One of the most enjoyable aspects of awaiting the unveiling of a new product is sifting through the rumors just prior to the unveiling date. With Apple CEO Tim Cook scheduled to take the stage in September for the official unveiling of the iPhone 7, the rumors are flying fast and furious.
In the past, some rumors have come to fruition while others seem to end up being nothing more than just rumors. With that in mind, here’s a few tidbits that are currently floating around the industry. Note that some of this information is being derived from sources that have proven to be very reliable in the past.
Rumor one – Reports have surfaced that a picture of the iPhone 7 Plus indicated that the external mute button has been excluded from the new generation. It’s possible the developers have chosen a software solution in favor of the button, but that could still make a lot of loyal Apple iPhone users feel very unsettled.
Rumor Two – While the iPhone 7 is set to be released as a smaller 4.7 inch device, the camera portal appears to be larger by scale. After Samsung’s Galaxy S7 reaped kudos from the industry for its new camera that featured Duo Pixel Technology, it became clear it was time for Apple to upgrade its iPhone camera technology. After acquiring the rights last year to new LinX camera technology, Apple enthusiasts began wondering how the new technology might be used. According to rumors, the iPhone 7 will have dual-lens capabilities. Users will be able to focus on an object through both a wide-angle and telephoto lens at the same time and take pictures with both.
Rumor Three – After running many years with 16GB of storage as the iPhone’s base model, Apple appears set to put that one to bed in favor of a 32GB storage platform on its basic model. If this is true, users can expect to see models with storage space ranging from 32GB up to 256GB and RAM memory storage starting at 2GB. According to rumors, the pricing has been proportionately adjusted downward in relation to a device’s storage.
